Catalpa Inn has shifted to a long-term residential rental in response to Covid impacts. Presently short-term vacation rentals are not available.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

This circa-1930’s inn was once the Prospect Section Foreman’s House when the Norfolk-Western railroad was active here.  Now the railroad has been replaced with the High Bridge Trail State Park and the house has been meticulously restored to its historic splendor while offering modern comforts.  Inside, guests enjoy historic charm, local foods, and local art.

The Catalpa Inn is centrally located between Appomattox and Farmville, Virginia.  Guests have quick trip access to Hampden-Sydney College, Longwood University, The Museum of the Confederacy, Historic Downtown Appomattox and Historic Downtown Farmville, Greenfront Furniture, and several state parks.  High Bridge Trail State Park provides bike riding, horse-riding, and pedestrian recreation right outside the front door.

When you book the Catalpa Inn, the entire home is yours for the duration of your stay and features two bedrooms (1 King, 1 Full), one full bath, linens and towels, full-size kitchen equipped with cookware and utensils, dining room and living room, and a comfortable back porch.
